Updated October 2026. If you are looking for women’s sober living in Colorado Springs, the first thing to know from us is plain: our Colorado Springs housing is for men. An earlier version of this page said we had a women’s home there. We do not, and we would rather you hear that here than on the phone.

What follows is how to judge a women’s sober living home in Colorado Springs, wherever you end up, and where we do have women’s houses if moving is an option.

What to look for in women's sober living

It is genuinely women-only

Ask whether the house itself is women-only, not just the bedrooms. Some operators run mixed houses with separate rooms, and that is a different environment. Also ask whether residents may date one another; ours may not, at any of our locations.

The rules are written down

A good house hands you the whole agreement before you pay: curfew or quiet hours, visitors, testing, meetings, and what happens after a relapse. Rules that change depending on who you ask are enforced unevenly.

It tests, and says how

Ask how often residents are tested for drugs and alcohol, whether it is random, and what follows a positive result.

It is certified, and you know at what level

In Colorado, many recovery residences are certified by CARR, the Colorado Association of Recovery Residences, against national standards and at different levels of support. Ask whether a house is certified and at what level. We explain the levels in Colorado Springs sober living: costs, rules and CARR levels.

It fits your life

Ask about the things that make or break a stay for women in particular: whether children can visit or live there, how the house handles a resident’s safety concerns about someone outside it, and whether you can keep your job, your treatment provider and your appointments. If children are part of the picture, see sober living with children.

Inside the Colorado Springs homes

Dining table and chairs in an open-plan room with a large rug.
Kitchen with a stainless refrigerator, bar stools and pendant lights.
Games room with a pool table beneath a ceiling fan.
Pool table with a cue rack and a curtained window.
Games room with a pool table, arcade cabinet and two armchairs.
Games room with a pool table and a vaulted ceiling.
Entrance hall with a runner and the front door open to the street.
Hallway with a striped runner on wood flooring.
Staircase with a wooden bannister.
Hallway beneath three pendant lights.
Bathroom with a vanity, oval mirror and paneled wall.
Patio with wicker chairs and a table outside the house.

The cost is clear

Get the monthly rent, what it includes and what is due at move-in, in writing, with receipts. Be careful with a bed that is free only while you attend one particular program. Our guide to free and low-cost sober living in Colorado Springs covers what genuinely costs less.

Red flags

  • A “women’s home” that turns out to be a mixed house.
  • No written agreement, or no testing.
  • Pressure to move in immediately without seeing the house or the rules.
  • Cash only and no receipts.
  • Free housing tied to a single treatment program.

Where we do have women's sober living

If you can relocate, or you are not tied to Colorado Springs, we run women’s houses in Texas:

Every one of them runs on the same signed agreement: no alcohol or drugs, testing, three recovery meetings a week and a sponsor, a weekly community meeting, work or school or volunteering, and no relationships between residents. It is housing, not treatment. To ask what is open, call (719) 368-8544 or apply online; one application covers every location.
