Sober Living Community Rules At Eudaimonia Recovery Homes, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment for individuals on their recovery journey. Our Sober Living Community Rules are designed to foster accountability, respect, and personal growth. These standards apply across every Eudaimonia sober living residence.

What Is Expected

Sober Living Community Rules

Sober Living Community Rules: Substance-Free Environment

To maintain a healthy and safe living space, all Eudaimonia sober living homes are substance-free. This includes a strict policy against the use, possession, or presence of alcohol, drugs, or mind-altering substances. Residents are required to participate in regular drug and alcohol screenings to ensure compliance.

Cleanliness and Respect

A clean and respectful environment is essential for recovery. Residents are expected to:

  • Maintain personal and shared living spaces.
  • Respect the privacy and property of fellow residents.
  • Participate in community chores and uphold house cleanliness standards.

All Eudaimonia homes are equipped with housekeeping guidelines to assist residents in maintaining a tidy environment.

Active Participation in Recovery

Engagement in recovery activities is crucial. Residents are expected to:

  • Attend weekly house meetings.
  • Secure a permanent sponsor within the recovery community.
  • Regularly attend the required number of 12-step recovery meetings each week.

For those not yet employed, volunteering, attending school, or enrolled in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), participation in our Support Employment Volunteering (SEV) program is mandatory.

Gender-Specific Housing

To maintain a focused and respectful environment, Eudaimonia sober living homes are gender-specific. Members of the opposite sex are not permitted in male or female homes. Therefore, all guests must be approved before entering any Eudaimonia property, and sexual activity between residents or nonresidents is strictly prohibited.

Professional Relationships

Residents and staff are expected to maintain professional and appropriate relationships. Dating, romantic involvement, or any form of sexual activity between residents or between residents and staff is not permitted on any Eudaimonia property.

What You Sign

The 12 Client Commitments

Exhibit A of the Sober Living Program Agreement every resident signs.

  1. 01

    I commit to ensuring the sober community I live in is free from drugs, alcohol and all mind-altering substances. I will do my part by holding the community I live in accountable, and by participating in the alcohol and drug-screening program.

  2. 02

    I commit to ensuring that the sober living community I live in is kept clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary.

  3. 03

    I commit to participate and grow in recovery by attending 3 recovery meetings per week and securing a permanent sponsor.

  4. 04

    I commit to contribute to a respectful living environment by not using profanity, threats, physical violence, or any form of intimidation. In addition, I commit to being honest, respectful, not stealing, and not possessing weapons or pets of any kind in the community.

  5. 05

    I commit to respecting the structure and personal space of each community member by not damaging anyone’s property, or entering another community member’s personal quarters without invitation, and observing and adhering to established community “quiet time” and visitation hours.

  6. 06

    I commit to not engaging in sexual contact, romantic relationships, or dating other Eudaimonia Recovery Homes community members from any Eudaimonia Recovery Homes locations.

  7. 07

    If I use tobacco, I commit to using it in a designated area and being responsible for properly disposing of my tobacco products.

  8. 08

    I commit to actively participating in the community by attending the weekly community meeting and contributing ideas and actions to the solution, participation in community tasks, and maintaining the anonymity of other participants in the community.

  9. 09

    I commit to obtain a job (at an employer that does not serve alcohol), enroll in a form of higher education, or volunteer my time to a suitable nonprofit organization. To achieve this commitment, I will actively participate in life skills planning held at 9 am on business days and follow the plan developed with my designated life coach.

  10. 10

    I commit to honoring my program requirements, outlined in my phase program, and participate and actively work with my AMP coach.

  11. 11

    I commit to being responsible for the purchase of my weekly groceries, weekly laundry cleaning, maintaining my personal hygiene, and adhering to any prescribed medication regimen.

  12. 12

    I commit to asking for help from my peers if I am struggling with any of the above commitments.
