What Living Here Involves

Dionysus Drive is a sober living home, not a treatment center. Eudaimonia does not run detox and does not provide medical care. What this house provides is somewhere stable to live while you do the rest of the work: a room, a curfew, drug and alcohol screening, house meetings, and staff who are on site rather than on call.

Residents are expected to be working, looking for work, or in school during the day, and to keep up with chores and house rules the same way everyone else does. That structure is the point of the place.

There is a washer and dryer on site, and parking for residents. Admissions can tell you what else comes with the room and what you should bring.

Progression through the house follows the same three phases used at every Eudaimonia address, so what is expected of you in month one is not what is expected in month six.

Read how the three-phase program works, or read the house rules in full before you apply.

Where It Is

12901 Dionysus Drive sits in North Austin, inside the 78753 ZIP code, off the north end of I-35. It is Eudaimonia’s fifth Austin address and the only one run for LGBTQ+ residents, which matters if you would rather not spend the first months of sobriety explaining yourself to the people you live with.

Admissions can tell you what is open here today. If the house is full, they will tell you that too, and what the wait looks like.

The Other Austin Houses

Eudaimonia runs five homes in Austin. If this one is not the right fit, the others are open to the same conversation.

Questions About Dionysus Drive

01 Who lives at Dionysus Drive?

This is Eudaimonia’s LGBTQ+ sober living home in Austin. Everyone here is in the same position: out of treatment, staying sober, and looking for somewhere to live while the rest of life gets rebuilt.

02 What does a room cost?

Three of the four rooms are priced per bed, so what you pay depends on the room rather than on the house. The table above lists all four. Admissions can tell you which ones are open right now and what the payment schedule looks like before you commit to anything.

03 Is a private room available?

There is one single room with a full-size bed. Whether it is open today is a question for admissions, not for this page, because it changes.

04 Do I have to be out of treatment first?

Sober living is what comes after detox or inpatient treatment, not instead of it. Eudaimonia is not a detox and does not provide medical care. If you are still drinking or using, admissions will tell you what needs to happen first.

05 What is expected of me while I live here?

The same things at every Eudaimonia house: a curfew, drug and alcohol screening, house meetings, chores, and work or school during the day. The three-phase program sets out what changes as you progress.

06 How do I apply?

Apply online or call admissions. They will tell you what is open at Dionysus Drive and at the other Austin houses, and what a room actually costs at each.
